Prometric - PLANWEL is a Premium Plus Partner and
is an Authorized Prometric Testing Center, and is offering
Computer Based Testing (CBT) services for students and individuals
who like to be tested for Continuing Education Certification
Programs with major vendors such as Microsoft Corporation,
Oracle Corporation and Cisco USA. As a Premier Plus Partner
with Sylvan Prometric, PLANWEL will soon have the expertise
of testing the skills as per the Skill Assessment Test (SAT)
computer program. This would enable employers, institutions
and others to get the skills tested of their employee in any
particular area of computer software.
Drake Authorized
Testing Center - PLANWEL has been designated as the
the first site for a DATC in Pakistan in order to conduct
tests as per international certification standards for the
Call center personell. These tests are internationally recognized
as the industry standards.

in consultancy and in projects, in Pakistan in the area of
primarily health care and smart card usage for clinical purpose.

- MoU signed to establish POP sites in various cities in the
region for providing medical facilities online through videoconferencing.
PLANWEL was also invited by Washington State
University, USAID, University of Jordan to the - Higher Education
Partnerships for Social and Economic Development, international
conference attended by leading US institutions of higher learning.
Virtual
University of Pakistan -PLANWEL is a partner institute
of the VU of Pakistan
The
launch of the virtual university is a historical milestone
for Pakistan in the field of the higher education. It is excepted
to have a great impact o the socio-economic growth of Pakistan

are offering Bachelor of Sciences in Information Technology
and other applied field in collaboration with VU. This is
a four years comprehensive program divided in eight semesters.

E-Government
Program in collaboration with Sindh IT Department, Government
of Sindh The government of program has a launched
a training program for creating awareness and computer literacy
amongst its employees in Sindh. Under phase I of this program,
PLANWEL as one of the approved training providers has imparted
training to over 200 government employees in various grades
and has successfully conducted their examination supervised
by Sindh IT officials.
Training

Computer Bureau - We are already enlisted as training
partner of Pakistan Computer Bureau for Elementary Training,
Linux End User Training and Linux System Administration for
Government Employees and private candidates. We will start
our training session after Eid and we have received about
150 admissions intake in our first session. A copy of enlisted
letter received from PCB is attached.

- an electronic access network of all the regional libraries
for furthering research and development; as per the mission
statement of PLANWEL for Building Technology Based Communities
and Bringing Technology to the People. It is an effort to
ensure that all underprivileged communities in the region
have equal access to information. For this PLANWEL is also
mirroring on its server a database of world libraries LIBweb

University of California Berkley and Sun Microsystems, Inc.
USAID funded ESRA project in collaboration with of
the Research Triangle International (RTI), USA - This
program has been funded by the USAID who have selected RTI
as the lead consultant. PLANWEL has been selected as a national
partner for the information and communication technologies,
component of the study. The program seeks to achieve strategic
and sustainable improvement in education and is focused on
NGO`s, community groups, schools, teachers associations, teachers
training institutes and similar private sector initiatives.
Distance Education Committee of Higher Education Commission,
Islamabad - Research & Development on Distance
Learning Mr. Shahab Afroz Khan, Director Planwel is a Member
of the Committee on Distance Learning of Higher Education
Commission, Islamabad.
Microsoft
Authorized Refurbisher (MAR) - Microsoft,
has appointed PLANWEL as its Authorized Refurbisher (MAR)
in Pakistan to receive donated surplus computers and equipment
from local and international donors, Foundations and multinational
corporations (MNC), Software Houses, I.T organizations, Universities,
government departments and businesses in Pakistan and distribute
them after refurbishment to schools, charitable institutions
and libraries across Pakistan at a subsidized cost.
International Telecommunication Union (ITU) project –
ICT opportunities for youth and gender in Asia and the Pacific
region - ITU
– This project is organized by the ITU and one of the
aims is to identify ICT related projects, activities, researches
and IT enabled services and providing long-term job opportunities
in the information society for youths. PLANWEL has been selected
as one of the participating partners and was invited to attend
an international seminar in Malaysia in 2003 to work on a
project that would be presented in the WSIS in 2005.
English
Language Institute - PLANWEL offers customized business
English communication courses that provide a holistic learning
experience for students, entrepreneurs, corporate executives,
MBA and pre-MBA students, and others with a general interest
in improving their business communication skills. PLANWEL
is also able to develop a product tailored to specific customer
needs, such as public service communication or English for
technology managers. We offer training programs in TOEFL,
IELTS, etc. and have trained hundred of males and females
in the community.
Planwel
University also entered into an international competition
for "The Global Bangemann Challenge" funded by World
Bank. The City of Stockholm invited the whole world to show
their finest information technology projects in the Global
Bangemann Challenge.
This
international IT Award program started in early 1997 and ended
in June 1999. It is a privilege for PLANWEL that it was selected
as runners up under the category "IT in all Forms of
Education" which itself is an honor that a university
from a third world country was able to compete and finally
stand along all the developed countries, in its endeavor for
achieving quality education.
