Mehran University of Engineering & Technology Jamshoro has a Central Library service occupying accommodation completed in 1977. The role of the library is to support the standing of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro as a center of excellence within Sindh engaged primarily in first degree work, and to offer a significant element in providing a high quality learning environment for students. It also contributes to the related activities of postgraduate teaching and research, consultancy and research and development, at a level which supports but does not adversely affect undergraduate teaching.

Membership to the library is available to all students and faculty members following courses at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology All the library stock is available for loan with a few exceptions such as reference works, current issues of journals and some electronic media.

The library's lending stock attempts to offer standard texts in all relevant fields as well as alternative and background reading and important texts in peripheral subject areas. A Reserve Collection contains heavily used course work and items from this collection may only be used within the library. The Reference Section includes general encyclopedias, single copy of every book available in the library and many other general and reference works. The library staff performs on-line searches of remote bibliographic and textual databases. An increasing number of electronic services are available in the library particularly in CD-ROM format. The library' s operation is fully computerized, including the issue and return of loan, acquisitions, cataloguing.
